Dr. Do Huu Vinh is a rare interdisciplinary scholar whose work bridges the fields of port logistics, maritime operations, and Vietnamese linguistic–cultural studies. He earned his PhD in Business Administration with a specialization in Port Logistics from Sheffield Hallam University, United Kingdom, a leading institution in applied research for maritime management. With more than 36 years of professional experience at Ben Nghe Port in Ho Chi Minh City, Dr. Vinh possesses extensive expertise in port operations, strategic planning, risk management, and the development of modern logistics systems.

In addition to his professional career, Dr. Vinh serves as a graduate lecturer at Ho Chi Minh City Open University and collaborates academically with an educational institution in the Northwest region of the United States. In the academic environment, he is known for his ability to simplify complex concepts, integrate international theories with Vietnamese practice, and inspire students through his practical port-management experience.

Beyond logistics, Dr. Vinh is also recognized for his enduring contributions to Vietnamese linguistics, comparative literature, and cultural preservation. He is the author of several notable works, including the Vietnamese–English Translation Dictionary, Hotel & Tourism Management Dictionary, and Câu Hay Văn Chương. His ongoing research projects reflect both academic rigor and cultural depth, featuring the 1,999-line Shakespeare Corpus, 900 Mark Twain idioms, the Vietnamese–English Idioms Corpus, and the Saigon Pre-1975 Spoken Language Archive. These works offer valuable insights into idiomatic expression, linguistic evolution, and cultural identity, serving as rare reference materials for both scholars and students.

GS.TS Đỗ Hữu Vinh là một học giả đa lĩnh vực hiếm có, với khả năng kết hợp nhuần nhuyễn giữa tư duy khoa học của ngành logistics cảng biển và chiều sâu văn hóa – ngôn ngữ Việt Nam. Ông tốt nghiệp Tiến sĩ Quản trị Kinh doanh, chuyên ngành Port Logistics, tại Sheffield Hallam University (Vương quốc Anh), một trong những trung tâm nghiên cứu ứng dụng mạnh của châu Âu về logistics và vận hành cảng. Với hơn 36 năm công tác tại Cảng Bến Nghé, GS.TS Đỗ Hữu Vinh sở hữu bề dày kinh nghiệm thực tiễn hiếm gặp, bao gồm vận hành cảng, hoạch định chiến lược, quản trị rủi ro và phát triển mô hình logistics hiện đại.

Song hành với sự nghiệp chuyên môn, ông còn đảm nhiệm vai trò giảng viên Sau Đại học tại Đại học Mở TP.HCM và công tác học thuật tại một cơ sở giáo dục tại Northwest, Hoa Kỳ. Ở môi trường giảng dạy, ông được đánh giá cao nhờ khả năng hệ thống hóa kiến thức phức tạp thành các mô hình dễ hiểu, gắn kết lý thuyết quốc tế với thực tiễn cảng biển Việt Nam.

Ông là tác giả của nhiều công trình như Từ điển Biên–Phiên dịch Việt–Anh, Từ điển Quản trị khách sạn & du lịch, Câu Hay Văn Chương, cùng các dự án nghiên cứu đặc sắc: Corpus Thành ngữ Anh–Việt & Việt–Anh, 1.999 câu Shakespeare nguyên tác, 900 idioms Mark Twain, và bộ Khẩu ngữ Sài Gòn trước 1975. Những dự án này vừa mang tính học thuật, vừa có giá trị lưu giữ văn hóa, tạo dấu ấn lớn trong nghiên cứu ngôn ngữ so sánh và lịch sử văn nói đô thị miền Nam.
